The Prototype. is a trio composed by Sergio Albentosa, (organ), Miquel Casany (guitar) and Felipe Cucciardi (drums). Although they had been playing together for several years as a base band for different artists, and this is the reason for their strong stylistic cohesion, they would not become a trio until 2015 with the project “The Lou Bennett Songbook” dedicated to the repertoire of the American jazz organist Lou Bennett (1926-1997) with which Cucciardi had the opportunity to play on tours and recordings during the 90’s. The group made an extensive
research and transcription work, since many of the themes of the repertoire were not available. The trio has also performed depending on the occasions also in quartet and quintet. The group has performed at the main Jazz Festivals and clubs throughout these years.

Now, by 2019 and as a logical evolution, and without leaving this project, the trio presents “Hammond Hits” whose repertoire reviews that of the most influential organists of the 60s and 70s like Jimmy Smith, Jack Mc Duff, Don Patterson or Loonie Smith, Larry Young, but also of contemporary organists: Larry Goldings, Emmet Cohen or Joey de Francesco.
The style remains within the jazz style, but strongly influenced by the Soul, Blues, Boogaloo, Funk, and even Disco.
